Dr. Joshua Stehmeier
Before I met Dr. Stehmeier, living with pain was part of my everyday life. I relied on painkillers for relief. My feet and left knee hurt when waking and climbing stairs, my whole back area from head down to lower back had a dull ache. My head felt crooked, I felt my left leg was shorter than the other, I also had frequent headaches. My calves hurt when laying down.
Now that I have been adjusted things are much better, I now enjoy going on walks, climbing stairs is still not easy for me but it will improve with time. With my back and neck feeling so much better it is a joy to get up and get going.

I love the fact that x-rays were taken so that you could see if, in fact, there was an actual problem. After the first adjustment, I felt an almost immediate sense of well being. My headaches have pretty well disappeared, and for the first time in a long time I feel that there may be hope to have a life not filled with chronic pain. I especially like the fact that there is no “cracking” involved in this process. Dr. Stehmeier also focuses on the whole well being of the patient which I like a lot.

Prior to starting treatment, I didn’t leave the house without taking Ibuprofen with me. I would take 600 mg. at a time sometimes. The source of pain was a bulging, herniated disc in my lower back. Although I still have the problem, since treatment I have not had to take medication for pain. A bonus has been the relief of pressure in my head that I had lived with for decades which was the result of a car accident. Thank you Dr. Stehmeier for helping me with these chronic problems.

Before my husband found Dr. Stehmeier I was in horrible pain all the time. I have been struggling with pain for over ten years. Every suggestion and diagnosis from all doctors and specialist was fibromyalgia. I consider myself very fortunate to be receiving the same method of treatment from him that I had been receiving from a chiropractor in Calgary for the past 20 years. The method of adjustment helps to keep me in a state of good health. I had gone to chiropractors for over 25 years before I discovered a NUCCA Chiropractor. For the first time in my life I was free of headaches for long periods of time. The adjustments are so gentle that is feels like nothing is happening but just as soon as I sit up, my jaw relaxes, my shoulders relax, I feel pure relief that is immediate. Firstly I am 73 years of age and went through a five way bypass operation and ended up with pain in my neck, shoulder and prior to that my right hip was aching which I thought was due to a blockage of an artery. I met Dr. Stehmeier in a local business and was curious about a strange looking device he had and was told that it measured ones frame for alignment, I had tried massage but was not satisfied with the results and was ready to try chiropractic hoping that I would find relief. So I set up an appointment with Joshua and after the first adjustment felt the pain diminish at least 90%, a couple more treatments set me straight and I am satisfied that it was money well spent. In 2001 I was involved in a vehicular collision. Due to the accident my physician thought it best for me to see a chiropractor. My first impression was no, but sought help anyway due to my pain levels. Upon seeing a NUCCA chiropractor in Edmonton I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the fact that I was taught about my health and alignment as well as how to keep my alignment, not just given an adjustment and sent on my way. I saw my parents going to a traditional chiropractor and they never seemed to get better, but I was holding my correction and maintaining it.

In the beginning I was very apprehensive about NUCCA care. Only because I had experienced traditional chiropractic care previously. My condition did not improve with the traditional approach and seemingly worsened, in a way that made me feel dependent on frequent adjustments, (once or more per week). I abandoned the traditional approach and sought other methods (ex, acupuncture) and my symptoms were only aggravated. But I was determined not to give up on myself and knew I would discover something sooner or later. That is when I came across the advertisement for Kelowna Wellness Clinic and researched the web site. Prior to my first consultation I was able to locate a video on the internet demonstrating the procedure. I found the first appointment very informative. When I had my first adjustment I was a little sceptical because I really didn’t feel much. It was over the course of a few weeks that I really noticed a difference. I suffered from mild to severe headaches daily prior to NUCCA care. I rarely get headaches these days. I am so enthusiastic to report my better well being to others. Suffering from headaches is all consuming so living without the headaches has improved my life dramatically. I know that I need to be active in my healthcare and I have appreciated the care and knowledge I have received through Dr. Stehmeier.

I was unsure initially because it was new to me and my experience with regular chiropractic work was not always positive. My experience here was surprising even to me when I had a problem, Dr. Stehmeier adjusted my neck and I felt better, much better in a few minutes. The pain was replaced by a warm feeling on the side of my neck. The pain that I had was gone and it has never returned to such an extent. The minor aches and pains that I have now are more easily dealt with through massage, exercise, heat and etc. Before Dr. Stehmeier’s treatment I had continuous pain even with massage, exercise, acupuncture, etc. I hated the pain because there was no physical way to control it. Now I have control again and thankfully the energy and capacity do to all the things I want to do eg. Exercise and to do the things I have to do like work. I can breathe more easily knowing if I have a problem with my neck that there is help for me.

I tell people that procedure is very gentle. Results could be felt after the first treatment. I like the thought and belief patterns of Dr. Stehmeier. They are refreshing.
